Porta Historica. Network of editors of historical sources.

In 2006, a European network was set up upon the initiative of the Institute of Netherlands History. It includes institutions with the vocation to promote accessibility to historical sources in the broadest sense, on a national level, especially through the scientific editing of these sources. These missions also involve establishing and providing access to data of a biographical or bibliographical nature.
This network has been set up as a forum for discussion and to exchange the expertise developed in each country. It is also a focal point for shared activities: organising congresses, setting up concrete projects in shared fields of activity, for instance, the rules in term of electronic editing.
